In 1985, Neil Young, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp had the idea to play a concert to benefit America’s farmers. Now, 25 years later, the concert has become an annual event for the great cause.

This year’s event, dubbed Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope For America will be held on Oct. 2 at the Miller Park in Milwaukee.

Entertainment for the event includes performances by The BoDeans, Dave Matthews, Kenny Chesney, Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, Jeff Tweedy, Band of Horses, Amos Lee, Robert Francis, Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real, and of course Young, Nelson and Mellencamp.

“This anniversary concert is a chance for everyone to join with Farm Aid to support the family farmers who are growing hope for America, through the good food they produce, the economies they build, and their care for the soil and water,” Young said. “Family farmers are the backbone of our country and right now we need them more than ever.”

Don’t miss your chance to see all these amazing acts live for a good cause. Get your BoDeans tickets today!

BoDeans was formed in 1983 by friends Kurt Neumann & Sam Llanas. The boys defined themselves as roots rock’n'roll performing regularly in Milwaukee. By 1985, they added two more members and signed a contract with Slash Records.

Their debut album “Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams” was released in 1986 and received little reaction from critics and music fans. By the time their second album “Outside Looking In” dropped, BoDeans was once again a trio. With this record, they broke into the Billboard Top 100.

The band gained tremendous exposure by then touring alongside U2. The single, “Close To Free,” has been their most successful single to date as the theme song for television’s Party of Five. In the 90’s, the band took a break for some members to focus on solo projects.

BoDeans returned in 2004 and have since continued to release new material despite member and label changes. Their newest album, “Mr. Sad Clown” was just released this past April. Now through August catch BoDeans on the road in support of the new record.

Keep checking back for more BoDeans news.
